As part of support for the medical institutions of new Russian territories, doctors of Research Center for Endovascular Neurosurgery of the FMBA’s Federal Center of Brain Research and Neurotechnology held a master class at Luhansk Republican Clinical Hospital. For the first time since 2014, neurosurgeons had performed endovascular treatment of cerebral vascular pathologies at the hospital’s neurosurgical department.
During the training, 12 interventions were performed to treat complex cerebral vascular pathologies, such as aneurysms, AVMs and dural arteriovenous fistulas. The operations were supervised by Nikolay Strelnikov and Petr Sinitsyn, doctors of the research center. The head of the center, Kirill Yu. Orlov, MD, Director of the RENS, has a tremendous experience in endovascular neurosurgery and regularly share his knowledge with other neurosurgeons.
For example, in October 2023, Vadim Borisenko, a neurosurgeon of Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital, was trained by Dr. Orlov for 144 hours. This was an on-job training devoted to the most topical issues of endovascular neurosurgery.
Supporting medical institutions of the LNR and DNR is one of the most important goals set by the FMBA. The doctors the Research Center for Endovascular Neurosurgery do their best to support their colleagues in the LNR and DNR and their patients.
