RENS Second Educational Course on Ischemic Stroke Treatment Has Been Carried Out in Moscow in November

The course organized by RENS in cooperation with the European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT) took place on November 23-27 in Moscow at the Federal Center of Brain and Neurotechnologies.

Earlier such joint RENS/ESMINT courses had only been organized in an offline format, but the pandemic had made us all adapt to the change, so this event was carried out in a mixed online/offline format when lectures were delivered online via our website to the participants connecting from different cities of Russia.

On the 23rd of November, the lectures were given by Igor A. Voznyk, Alexander V. Savello, Sebastien Soize and Laurent Spelle. Sebastien Soize, a neuroradiologist from Hôpital Maison Blanche in Reims delivered a lecture on an innovative technique of thrombus extraction they used in their department that was taken with undivided attention. Starting from the second day, the participants were given tests to estimate their progression. In total, the course summoned 60 participants, 2 of whom were announced winners based on their final test score and nominated to participate in the upcoming EXMINT Stroke Course.

The 5-day program was quite intense, and both lectures and tests enabled the participants to significantly enhance their professional skills that can later be successfully implemented in their daily practice to improve their patients’ health and quality of life.

The next joint RENS/ESMINT educational course devoted to cerebral AVMs is planned to be held on November 21-26, 2021. The venue is yet to be decided. Due to a large number of requests, the organizing committee has also decided to repeat the abovementioned course.
