Perm and Moscow have become the venues of the Treatment of Stroke Patients course 2022

On October 27-28 in Perm and November 1-2 in Moscow, the fourth international course Treatment of Ischemic Stroke Patients took place. The course was devoted to the endovascular techniques for treatment of vascular pathologies and brought together participants from different regions of Russia. The reports were delivered by the leading experts in the field of endovascular diagnostics and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.

The course was developed by the Russian Endovascular Neuro Society (RENS) with the active support of:

  • Russian Association of Neurosurgeons;
  • Russian Scientific Society of Endovascular Therapies;
  • Federal Medical and Biological Agency;
  • I. Janelidze St. Petersburg Research Institute of Emergency Care;
  • N.Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery;
  • Perm State Medical University

The course has become an innovative educational platform where topical issues of endovascular methods for diagnosing and treating ischemic stroke were raised, the features of their use in various neurological statuses were discussed, and the organization of a system to prevent possible post-surgery complications and provide medical rehabilitation was considered. These and many other issues have been reported by both Russin and foreign speakers.

Based on the principle of tutoring and knowledge share, the project has brought together as traditional approaches to educating doctors as modern educational methods of vocational training. Thanks to the system of daily testing, the participants were able to assess their initial knowledge and how well they were able to acquire new knowledge and skills during the course. The rating system became an additional incentive for learning, and also created and maintained a healthy spirit of competition among the participants.

Vyacheslav Panarin, a neurosurgeon from Medical Center of the Far East Federal University (Vladivostok) was announced to obtain the highest rating score at the end of the course. The Association cordially congratulate the winner and wish him a great success in his professional activity!

“The RENS considers ischemic stroke a very important issue. For that reason, its discussion has become a long – lasting tradition that helps the participants implement into their daily practice the most advanced and effective techniques for the treatment and rehabilitation of such patients. The Society thank the experts, partners, sponsors and the participants of the course for being a part of our educational project”, noted K. Yu. Orlov, Director of the RENS, Head of Scientific & Research Center of Endovascular Neurosurgery at the Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnology.
